I try to update as usual Joomla to the new version.
I have the following message:
An update to Joomla 5.0.3 has been detected but your web server is not responding to requirements. |
I received an e-mail fromOVH Recommending me to look at this article:
Dupliquer le contenu d'une base de données dans une autre
I tell myself that to pass like this from a version 5.7.42 to a version 8.0.13,
It is risky to do this directly on the OVH server.
In addition, I only have a paid base; I don't want to buy one!!!
So I try to install the new mysql locally.
I commonly use the tool
EasyPhp.
However, they do not offer free version 8.0.x of MySql.
So I'm forced to manually install the version.
Thanks to openclassrooms for indicating the installation mode
I installed the version including with the service, without launching it automatically; I prefer to master the launch.
I put my usual userid/password
Then just launch the MySQL service on the one hand
And to launch only HTTP Server services
I then made a backup of my used joomla database and restored it to the new mysql database using phpMyAdmin.
With this update I can update my site locally with the version 5.0.3
Once validated, all that remains is to modify my version of MySql at OVH.
They did it right. This update is automatic!!!
Note:: Note that after the switch to MySql 8.0.x, we have a break in compatiblity. Lower versions of Joomla (V4.x ...) no longer work
I kept my first database before I bought a new one. This is the one I use for my older versions.
